Louis Vuitton - Client lifecycle concept
ConceptLuxury lifecycle & CRM

Louis Vuitton: rebuilding the post-purchase moment.

A client bought at the Louis Vuitton store in Istanbul Airport. The follow-up email arrived in Turkish, a language he does not speak, with three misspelt words and a database field where the store name should have been. We took the same moment and rebuilt it.

What arrivedA 1 to 5 survey, wrong language
01 - The email that arrived

A survey, in the wrong language, illustrated with a raft.

Reconstructed from the email as received. The language is the headline, but it is the least interesting problem here.

As received - 27 July

UYGULAMAYI INDIRIN
LanguageTurkish, to a client who does not speak itThe language was inherited from the store's country. An airport store is the one location on earth where the local language is least likely to be right.
ExecutionThe Turkish itself is broken"Degerlendirme", "surecektir" and "Havalimani" are all missing their diacritics, while the rest of the email has them. Not a clean localised send - a hand-edited one.
Data"Havalimani" is a database fieldIt reads as "our Airport store". Not Istanbul, not a place, just whatever sat in the record.
RelevanceIt knows nothing about the purchaseSeveral items were bought. None are named, shown or acknowledged. The product is the emotional centre of a luxury purchase and it is absent.
RelationshipNo client advisorThe Maison runs on clienteling. The person who served him is not named anywhere.
IntentIt asks, and gives nothingThe highest-intent moment in the journey is spent harvesting a number that nobody will act on.
02 - The same moment, rebuilt

Arrives when he lands. From the person who served him. About the object he now owns.

Every element below is a field the Maison already holds at the point of sale: the store, the advisor, the pieces, the language preference, the tax documentation. Nothing here requires new data. It requires the data to be used.

A safe journey home.

A note from your advisor

Mr Sapriko, it was a pleasure to welcome you this morning. You mentioned the Keepall was going straight into service on the flight - I hope it travelled well, and that the weight sat right on the shoulder strap.

Everything you need for the journey is below. If anything at all is not right, write to me directly and I will take care of it personally.

Where it was made

Your Keepall left the workshop nineteen days ago.

The Keepall has been made the same way since 1930, when it was designed for a generation who had just started to travel by air. Yours was cut, stitched and finished by hand, and carries the maker's mark inside the leather tab.

Coated canvas and leather
Care

It will change. That is intended.

Monogram Eclipse canvas is hard-wearing and does not need treating. The cowhide-leather trim will darken slowly with handling and sunlight, and will settle into a deeper tone within the first year. Keep it out of prolonged damp, and let it dry naturally if it is caught in rain.

Full care instructions
One question, if you have a moment

Was the Keepall a gift? If so, we will send care instructions written for the person receiving it, and leave your own record untouched.

LOUIS VUITTON

You are receiving this because you made a purchase with us on 27 July 2026.
Written in English, the language you gave us at the counter. Change this.

TimingIt arrives on landing, not on paymentThe store and the flight window are both known. An email that appears as he gets home reads as attention. The same email fired when the card clears reads as software.
SenderA named advisor, in their own wordsTwo lines approved on the shop floor in the clienteling app before he is through security. Everything after them is templated. Those two lines are why it feels like a person.
LanguageTaken from the client, not the storeCaptured at the counter, with English as the fallback, and a visible way to change it in the footer.
ProductWhat he actually bought, shownReal pieces, real references, registered to him. This data is already in the point of sale.
CraftProvenance he can repeat to someone elseWhen it was made and how. It costs nothing to include and it is the detail people tell their friends.
ServiceThe travel layer, handled quietlyTax documentation, lifetime repair and the boutiques along his route. Purely useful, and specific to exactly the segment this email is sent to.
RestraintNothing is for saleNo products, no app download, no survey. The only action is reaching a human. The confidence to ask for nothing is the signal.
03 - The sequence that should follow

One email cannot carry a relationship. Five can begin one.

The survey compressed an entire relationship into a single satisfaction score on day zero. Here is the same thirty days, spent earning the right to ask.

The advisor's note, the pieces, provenance, registration, tax documents and care. Everything he needs, before he thinks to ask for it.

The art of the Keepall

The atelier film for his specific line. Ninety years of a bag designed for people who had just started flying. Pure brand, no mechanism attached.

Elif checks in

One question from the advisor by name: how is it travelling. This is where feedback belongs, and where it will actually be answered.

The first month

How the leather is settling, what to expect through winter, and a reminder that repair is free of time limits. Ownership, supported.

AN INVITATION

When you are next in Paris

Not an offer. An invitation - a private appointment, or the current exhibition at the Fondation. The relationship escalates rather than the discount.

Invites, does not sell
04 - The opportunity

This was one moment. The journey is full of them.

Before the purchase, around it, and for as long as a client owns the piece, the relationship is made of moments like this one. Each already has the data behind it. Almost none of them use it.

Before the purchaseAt the purchaseFor as long as they own it

One email is a proof of what is possible. The opportunity is the whole journey behind it, across every market and every language the Maison speaks.

This is a concept, not a finished design. The programme behind it - the language logic, the clienteling layer, the templates and the QA that stops a Turkish survey reaching a Latvian client - is what we build and run every day. Happy to walk you through it.
